Sending and receiving
Who pays the postage?
The buyer, at Swiss Post's rate, with no margin on our part. The amount is shown before purchase and the seller is reimbursed to the centime.
How does the seller send the parcel?
They pay the postage themselves, online or at the counter, then drop off the parcel. The steps are set out on the "Sending your parcel" page. Paying online costs 1.50 francs less per parcel: a discount from Swiss Post, not from us.
Can I buy several items from the same seller?
Yes, and that is the whole point: from the seller's shop, tick the items you want. They travel in a single parcel, with one postage charge and one protection fee instead of one per item.
And items too big for a parcel?
Furniture, skis, bikes: they go through a specialist carrier, with a quote shown before purchase. You remain free to decline after seeing it.
What does the insurance cover?
Swiss Post's basic cover goes up to 500 francs. Above that, a supplementary service is added automatically and paid by the buyer. Above 5,000 francs, no cover exists: those items are handed over in person.
